Tennant Company is looking for a qualified individual to fill a Chief Operations Engineer position. This is a 1st shift position, working Monday : Friday 6:00am : 2:00pm. The Chief Operations Engineer must be open to working overtime as needed.
The Tennant Company Facilities Management Division is seeking applicants for a Chief Operations Engineer. This position will be responsible for performing skilled day:to:day operations, inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of industrial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and control systems. The person in this position will independently review heat or cooling requirements; compare and recommend modifications to achieve optimal system effectiveness and efficiency applying knowledge of design and operations to achieve results. This includes but not limited to: Boilers, small to large Air Handling Units (AHUs), pneumatic sensors, electric/pneumatic valves, motors, humidistats, pumps, chillers, condensers, Make Up Air Handling Units (MUAs) and exhaust systems, hot water heating systems, heat pumps, cooling towers, water chillers, water cooling systems, water treatment, and commercial kitchen equipment etc. The candidate must maintain the highest level of professionalism, while directly servicing wide variety of internal customers, and responses to those customers needs. Candidate must possess a commitment to achieving the goal of 100 uptime. Additionally, as the Chief Operations Engineer, this position is expected to have an intimate knowledge of codes, laws and regulations pertaining to the safe operation of the facility HVAC/R and its equipment. Strong attention to detail with a desire and ability to complete jobs correctly while implementing and supervising multiple activities. This position supports multiple buildings in a campus environment. Strong candidates with a variety of experiences are encouraged . This is a Full:time position.
Required Skills and Certifications:
This position requires a valid Boiler License of Chief Engineer, Grade C or higher. May consider a First:class Engineer Grade A License with the ability to obtain Chief Engineer, Grade C within 90 days.
:Must have EPA certification.
:Excellent skills in operating hand and power tools, power lifts, scaffolding, ladders, and is skilled in reading meters, gauges, as well as all industry standard equipment.
:Mastered brazing, soldering pneumatics, plumbing and electronic, DDC controls (JCI:Metasys preferred) as well as pneumatic controls.
:Highly skilled in troubleshooting all HVAC/R systems.
:Fully understands and has mastered combustion analysis, advanced heat load calculations, advanced heat loss calculations and cooling load calculations.
:Understand how to interpret blueprints and schematics.
:Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook), as well as any other software programs or pieces of technology identified as standard within the HVAC industry.
